HAIR CARE & MAINTENACE

A HAIR CARE GUIDE

All YANNASTYLE wigs are made with 100% human hair (raw or premium virgin hair).

Proper care will help maintain the quality, softness, and longevity of your wig.

Washing

• Wash regularly, or every 7–10 wears using warm water and a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner

• Regular deep conditioning is also recommended to reduce dryness

Drying

• We recommend gently detangling & air drying the hair on a wig stand, or somewhere it can be carefully hung to dry.

• Blow dry on low heat if desired, always using heat protectant

Styling & Heat

All human hair wigs are safe for heat styling. BUT, its important to note that any and all human hair can still be damaged.

• Always use a heat protectant and the lowest effective heat setting to avoid heat damage.

• Before curling or straightening the hair, we recommend using a good anti-frizz + silk & shine serum. 1 or 2 pumps/3-4 drops is enough. Rub it all around the hair until you feel its been evenly distributed.

• Use a holding hair spray in each section before curling. This helps the curls actually last.

• After curling each section, we recommend pinning the curl and letting it set for at least 10 minutes. (The longer the better. ie: 2 hrs, 2 days, etc) This also helps the curls last longer.

• Too much products or heavy oils will make the hair appear weighed down. We recommend going light. : Serum, heat protectant, hairspray

Detangling

• Detangle gently from ENDS to ROOTS using a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush.

• Avoid rough or excessive brushing/combing, especially near the front of the hair (lace), as it can cause damage and shedding

Products

• Use lightweight, alcohol-free products

• Avoid heavy oils, waxes, or buildup

• Some products we use frequently when styling your units: anti-frizz & shining serums, holding hair spray, spritz (for fly aways), heat protectant, wax, finishing spray

• If hair is being worn regularly (styled or un-styled), we recommend using a dry shampoo regularly in between washes. It upkeeps the hair, and makes the hair look refreshed, even without being re-styled.

Lace & Adhesive Care

• If using adhesive or glue, ensure proper installation and removal techniques. Improper glue removal can cause lace damage or shedding

• The lace of your wig should especially be handled with care as it is very thin. Never pull or force the lace, as this can cause it to rip.

Storage

• If possible, store on a wig stand or mannequin head in a cool, dry place

• Use a silk or satin bag for long-term storage

Longevity

• For higher quality hair like raw and premium virgin hair. Proper care is important as regular maintenance can extend the hairs lifetime.

Raw: 3-5 years or longer

Virgin: 2-3 years or longer

• Longevity depends on wear, styling, and maintenance
